Hello

Welcome to my page. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel supported, understood, and empowered to create change in your life. My goal is to walk alongside you with compassion and curiosity as we explore new ways of healing, growth, and connection. Whether you are navigating personal struggles, family conflict, or searching for alternative approaches to wellness, I am here to provide guidance, encouragement, and care every step of the way.

My Story

Matina Trigo is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has dedicated her career to helping individuals, couples, and families build healthier lives and stronger connections. She began working in mental health in 2011, while still in school, supporting children in an ABA program. From early on, Matina knew that being a therapist was her calling, shaped by growing up in a family of family law attorneys and developing a deep interest in resolving family conflict and keeping people connected.

Over the years, Matina has developed a passion for exploring alternative and complementary therapies in addition to traditional approaches. She incorporates hypnotherapy, mindfulness-based practices, and even nutritional perspectives such as amino acid support into her work, offering clients holistic options for healing beyond medication.

Matina has worked with diverse populations, most often serving clients within Medi-Cal systems of care, gaining extensive experience supporting individuals and families with a wide range of challenges including trauma, anxiety, depression, and relational struggles. In recent years, she has also stepped into the role of clinical supervisor, where she enjoys mentoring and guiding associate therapists. Her supervision style is encouraging and collaborative, helping new clinicians grow in both confidence and clinical skill while staying grounded in empathy and resilience.

Matina holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a master’s degree in Counseling from Palo Alto University. She is committed to creating spaces where people feel safe, supported, and capable of change—both in the therapy room and in the next generation of therapists she supervises.
